Resident Evil "Queen Zenobia Cruises"

To promote a new Resident Evil video game, we created an entire campaign revolving around a fictional cruise line and built a brand around it.

We created signage for a booth at NY ComiCon promoting this cruise, as well as creating a facebook page. To  make this look real, we also created reviews on cruise sites, a wikipedia page, and a fully functioning Queen Zenobia website(complete with working telephone number). The website had 3 phases, and viewers were tasked to search through the site looking for clues & codes that unlocked special downloadable content on the final stage of the decayed website.

By the time of the video game's launch, we had captured over 17k 'likes' on facebook, along with free publicity on dozens of blogs. Additionaly, videos  were released on Youtube of 'found footage" of creatures arms washed on shore & a hazmat team.

To build up a detailed backstory, we created a faux Wikipedia page detailing the spotty history and reputation of Queen Zenobia Cruise Lines as well as a Cruise Critic page leaving nothing but horrible 1-Star reviews.
17K+ likes on a Facebook page for a brand that doesn't exist? Not too bad. This Facebook page was part of a larger integrated launch campaign for the new Resident Evil Revelations video game. The page was run like a real brand with daily engaging co…

While some visitors bought into Queen Zenobia as a legitimate cruise line, the website was loaded with clever Easter eggs and carefully placed codes that were eventually discovered by eager fans. We even hid codes in the actual source code of the site build (which someone discovered on the day of the launch.

We set up a functional phone number with google voice. You can listen above to the soothing voice of a British woman that garnished over 300 voice mails.

Viral videos surface on YouTube showing a couple discovering a monsterous severed limb. In the second video, a hazmat crew from the fictional BSAA is seen carting out the creatures arm. Small clues in the videos hint at having something to do with Resident Evil Revelations.

We also developed the backstory shown in the introductory sequence of the video game, which completes the entire story.
